ConsNot another forward reach for cantilever brakes

ProsGood quality, sturdy

I bought this as I wanted to fit a light to my Dawes S-Galaxy on the fork crown when I had my bar bag in place. Product itself is lightweight and strong. I had to modify the bracket to create the reach I needed for the bracket to feed through my cantilever brakes to stop it interfering with the brake cables. Shame they don't do a long reach version of this.

Would be good if it fitted my bike and light

It's sturdily made but not "universal". The cutout is too small for my light bracket to fit and the bottom end won't clear my lower headset bracket. For some setups I'm sure it would be great, but for mine it doesn't work

Would be good if it fitted my bike and light

ProsRigid,adjustable, wellmade

Rigid but light weight bracket which fixes to my fork head very securely with a moulded rubber pad thus making it a watertight fixing. Holds my Cat Eye firmly and I like it's ability to be adjusted without losing rigidity. You need to purchase an appropriately sized screw to fix it. Price is reasonable.

Bolt details

Hello, I’d like to fix this to my fork and would be grateful if you can recommend a bolt dia and length. I purchased the forks from yon in 2018, they’re 26 inch Thorn RAV853 Steel fork (product code: 27988S46).

SJS Customer Service:

The bolt on these model of fork is M6 and you will need 20mm of length, make sure to use thread lock for security. SK 11/08/23

Bolts Are Not Included?

Hi. I've received my order but didn't realise that the bolts/nut were not included. Can you recommend what type to get? I want to mount on a 2015 Giant Escape 2.

Hi,

It will all depend on your forks, some forks have a threaded hole to take a certain sized bolt where as others require you to run a longer bolt through and a separate nut. You will also need to check if the back of your forks can take a recessed nut or will they need to take a standard external nut.
