Industry Standard Grade 100 316 Stainless Ball Bearings
High quality graded 316 stainless steel ball bearings made from AISI 316 Stainless Steel with a hardness of 25 - 39 Rockwell Scale equivalent to 140 - 160HB (Brinnel Scale). These are the same stainless 316 steel balls used to manufacture bearing assemblies and have a high duty and life cycle.
Unhardened austentic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance to sea water, dilute nitric, sulphuric and acetic acids, photo chemicals, inks, bleaches, dyes etc. Can be machined / drilled.

Would these be suitable for an Isla bike rear wheel hub

These would be for the rear hub of an Isla Bike Beinn 26 and I've had them apart and they're definitely 1/4 inch in size however I'm a little confused about grade and type of steel that is best. The hubs seem to be non-branded.

Are These Equivalent To Shimano Y00091310 Bearings Also In Quality

Hi, these bearings are the same diameter as the Shimano bearing so can be used as replacements. They are stainless steel not steel so better corrosion resistance. They are 100 grade not 25 or 50 that Shimano use, but Shimano cups and cones aren't smooth enough to benefit from 25 or 50 grade. Thanks.
What Are Advantages Of The Different Bearing Materials?

I see you have stainless, steel, and chrome steel bearings. What are the advantages of each (presumably corrosion, but what about hardness?) and which would you recommend for Shimano cup and cone bearings (e.g. my old XT hubs, or my new Ultegra hubs)?

Hi,
The Chrome steel bearings are actually a harder grade than the stainless bearings. When it comes to bearings the best thing to do is look at the grade, the lower the number the more round the bearings are. Shimano normally use 25 grade bearings for the higher end hubs and 50 grade for the lower end ones. I would not recommend spending more on higher quality bearings though as the cones and cups on most Shimano hubs aren't smooth enough to make a full difference, they will make smooth bearings rough just as quick.
