Impossible to replace bearings

ConsBearings can not be replaced

ProsOK, until the bearings need replacement

Bearings spec given as 163110 2RS, also by producer IRD. In reality bearing ID is 17mm. This bottom bracket lasted me less than three years as the bearings can not be replaced. Bearings 173110 2RS does not seem available.

ConsHard to find online, not many sizes available

ProsMade in Japan, Sealed, quality parts, 10 year warranty

Very similar quality to a phil wood etc, it is high end and worth the money if you want a bottom bracket that will last you years and run smooth.

Thank you for your enquiry. As long as the shell size is the same & you pick the matching axle length, as they are both for square taper chainsets this will be fine.

Differences between IRD BB's 95/75/55

What are the weight, longevity and seal differences between the three square taper IRD BB's 95, 75 and 55.

Hi, the weights are 237g, 224g and 278g for the 103mm respectively. We can't comment on the longevity and there is very little information on the seals. Thanks
