I recommend this product
ConsBlack would have been better for my stealthy machine (Airnimal Joey Endurance)
ProsNot from the far east
Installed to instruction. Torqued Apex crank to the recommended torque but wasn’t sure if the larger spacing (decimals of a mm) meant I should have held back on the torque. It felt stiffer before the first ride, but silky soothe thereafter.

I bought this to replace a worn SRAM GXP bottom bracket with Rival 1 groupset.

This stronglight BB fitted fine. It uses a shim to convert the non-drive side to 22mm from the more standard 24mm. I also needed the two included spacers to ensure the BB would tighten correctly in my frame which is 68mm English threaded type.

Initial impressions are good. I will have to wait and see how well it lasts compared to the SRAM GXP.

ConsYou may have to re-adjust your front mech
ProsLooks good
I bought this to replace a SRAM unit that was dead after 1400km, so fingers crossed this one has bearings made from steel rather than brie. It has 2 decent width bearings where the old unit had one wide and one narrow so I'm expecting this one to last longer. Fitted as per the instructions the drive-side was pushed a few mm further out so I had to re-adjust the front mech. After a 30km test ride it's smooth and silent with no play, and the shiny silver with red spacers just happens to look great on my bike.

Is the shim pictured for the non drive side? Cheers
Hello, yes this is English threaded. It looks like the shim goes on the non driveside.

I am confusedby the choices

I need a 68mm BB for a 30mm spindle with English BSA threaded external cups. to be used on a 38year old steel racer and truvativ PF30 cranks
price hopefully less than £50 if possible.

Thanks for your help
PF30 cranks are too narrow and we do not know of an option for these to be used on a threaded frame with external BB.
