These are the correct fit for my Raleigh with rod brakes and Westwood rims. Bit pricey but they do the job and there is no need to adapt them so overall very good.

Have a 37 year old Raleigh which still had the original blocks. Bought 4 new ones from EBay, but the holder was different, and they didn't fit properly. These were twice the price but they are identical to the originals, and fit much better. Only downside is that they don't have a leather insert for better wet weather performance.

So finally, these blocks are not made from Unobtainium! Although English bikes were once common in Switzerland, brake blocks for rod-braked "roadsters" have become very hard to find here. There remains one distributor, but he sells them to the trade for the same amount you ask for as retail price!

It's surprising but gratifying that these old brake pads are still manufactured. I had some difficulty in sourcing them, but was pleasantly surprised that these are exactly the same design and brand as the ones I replaced on a very old Raleigh bicycle.
