Replacement pad for Avid V type pad, it slips into the pad holder quickly and easily. With durable Kool Stop formulas and multiple water displacement grooves and patented Kool Stop plow tip.

Black compound for mainly dry conditions.

Length: 72mm. Brake surface length 69mm.

Great Pads, But Not For Avids

ConsNot for Avid cartridges

ProsGreat compound for wet and dry

These Kool Stop brake pads have the slightly wider curved upper edge and two grooves in the braking area and are marketed for Avid cartridges. I don't know what brake they're designed for because they don't fit my three Avid SD7s nor my Ultimate and end up mangled and chewed if installed with brute force. Buy the narrower, single grooved ones which slide right in.

They're also thinner than Ashima or Clarks, and match the original Avid pad thickness, so won't throw off your lovingly adjusted brake geometry.

Otherwise, Kool's usual black compound is very rim friendly and up to the job of British weather.
