Is This Suitable To Clamp A Straddle Cable?

I have purchased diacompe 750 centre pulls from sjs to use on a mixte frame. The out of the box straddle cable is too short to go around the seat post and the gap too narrow for the brake to work inside the seat post.

Can these anchor bolts be used to make a longer straddle cable from a brake cable?

Failing that do you have any other suggestions?

Unfortunately I don't know if using these anchor bolts would work, I would like to think it would but can't say for sure. I also don't have any other suggestions I'm afraid.
