I recommend this product

A good stylish piece. I fitted it to a steel fork crown, 1inch steerer tube, with an Old school Campagnolo Super Record Headset. This then required spacing out with two drilled out 6mm stainless Hex nuts to miss the headset Crown race. The captive bolt is just long enough for this with a 6mm Nylock on the back. I needed to fit the hanger first then mount the Crown race as I had a threaded rear section on the Crown for extra security.

ConsCable catcher runs low

ProsSolid fit with no flex

Fitted to old Dawes Horizon touring bike with a couple of half moon washers. Product looks good, but cable catcher is a bit deep and just rubs on 35mm tyres, so some filing was required.

Another well made item from Dia-Compe.
Unfortunately the bolt was not long enough to go through the fork crown on my touring bike, one found suitable in my workshop however. Also a deeper washer required to clear the steerer bottom crown. Apart from this minor problem I recommend the item.

Can it be used with the Dia Compe Gran Compe 610 center pull brakes

Hi,

Unfortunately this cable hanger will not work with the 610 brake as they both need to mount to the fork crown fixing bolt. This cable hanger is designed for use with cantilever style brakes the mount lower down on the forks.
