Good Brake Caliper

ConsBrake blocks not parallel to the rim

ProsRetro look

I needed a pair of front and rear brake calipers to fit my 1960's Merlin frame. These allowed me to use 700c wheels. I think these are a copy of a Weinmann 730 caliper. The original brake blocks look the part. Although I may change them for modern cartridge shoes with Swiss Stop brake blocks. I had to bend the arms, so the brake shoes were parallel to the rim.

Hi,

There are no recommended replacement blocks for this as such they use a 40mm block so can be replaced with one of a similar type/size or you could even upgrade to modern style cartridge brake pads.
