Use with 6-spd Brompton

I've got a 6-spd Brompton and the plastic chainstay cable guide/linkage is rubbish. My Brommie has flat bars, so what cable would I need for the Ti-parts replacement?
And...as it's not clear from your photo, just how does the Ti-parts linker connect to the derailleur cable and the springy widget thing that pushes the derailleur?

This is for a custom drivechain, using different shifters normally, the cable sits into the end of this with the inner passing straight through.
The inner then passes through the spring and will require a barrel nut on the end to secure it.
