I needed to adjust the brake cables for the hub brakes of a Pashley bike. One option would have been to purchase an entirely new pre-soldered brake assembly - more expensive and a bit wasteful. Using these I could make the adjustments I wanted, retaining the adjuster and other metal parts. It's a bit difficult to do it up tight, and it crushes the cable slightly (so if it's near the end crimp the cable first).
