The Transalp is specifically designed for bikes with disc brakes. Simple and super quick to mount to 26" and 700c bikes. Produced from lightweight 10 mm alloy tubing and with additional lower pannier mounting rails means it's easy to attach a rack pack without interfering with pannier hooks.

- Max load 25 kg

Note - This Product is not designed to pull a trailer or attachment of child seats.

ConsNone, yet...
ProsSolid, easy to fit, well finished
Can only comment on fitting and light use so far, but it seems very well put together and is rock solid on the bike.

Very easy to install with nice SS bolts and fitted with no modifications to my disc-braked Marin Novato 2010.

I intend to use this rack as part of a pannier system for commuting, light touring and camping later in 2011. Looks like it should be up to the job.

Would be nice if Tortec produced a matching front rack for disc brake equipped bikes.

Can you tell me the height from the mounting hole to the top plate please? Thankyou.
Hi unfortunately we are out of stock of both racks so have no product to measure and can't answer your question. Sorry.
How long is the top tray - and, are bolts included
By
11 Aug 2019
Hi, i would please really need to know the length of the top tray (alone, without the stays). Also, the rack comes with bolts included, is that right? Thank you ever so much.
35cm, no screws included EXCEPT the one to bolt the stays to the rack
What is the width of the top rails?
By
31 Aug 2018
I need to fit a child seat and the rails need to be 120 - 175mm apart, as well as 10 - 16mm diameter tubing. If this is not suitable could you recommend another product please? Thanks.
The rails are 120mm apart and are 10mm in diameter.

Thanks
How long are the distance pieces
By

I have a fairly wide cable based disc brake, so some disc specific pannier racks wouldn't fit.
How long are the lower distance pieces where the rack is screwed on?
I need something between 20-30 mm.
Can you please measure the length?
Hi there,

These pieces are approximately 30mm.

Thanks.

Will It Fix 2016 Specialized Jynx

I tried another rack, and the top supports just didn't reach the fairly low top mounting boss' , resulting in the rack pointing too the moon.

Any idea if these would fit?
Hi,

Unfortunately as we have never sold your bike or had one here to test it with we have no way of knowing if this rack will work with your lower top mounting boss' I'm afraid.

Thanks.
How Wide Is This Rack?

I'm looking for a rack to fit on the rear of a 5" fatbike, what is the gap between the inside of the rear stays?
Hi,

The distance between the stays where the widest part of the tyre would sit is about 5 1/4 inches so would probably be too tight to fit a 5" tyre properly. Even if you were to drop to smaller 4 1/2 inch tyres, you would have to check the distance between the rack mounts on the frame as this can be a limiting factor when fitting racks to fat bikes. The lower mounting point on this rack can be mounted to a frame that has mounts that are up to 170mm wide.

Thanks.
Fitting

Hi. Will this rack also fit a bike non disc brake bike, e.g .with cantilever or V brakes brakes or is there a non disc model?
Hi,

They don't do this exact model in a non-disc version but they do a number of similar alternatives. This rack can however be used on a bike without disc brakes anyway, it will just have extra unnecessary clearance.

Thanks.

where do i fix the lower part of the rack? on the frame eyelets or on the wheel axle? if on the axle, do i need a longer one?
thanks
Hi,

The rack requires eyelets to fit it, so you will need some longer bolts then it should just attach to your frame.

Thanks.
