I have the Blackburn Outpost rack installed on the rear of my touring bike. I should have thought harder about it before I bought it.
Good pannier bags have a hard plate on the inside of the bag allowing secure mounting via hooks and anchors.
The Outpost rack has a cross-member on the lower section that prevents the pannier from being secured flat against the rack-OK for clipping pannier bags onto upper platform, but using any lower anchoring-semi elliptical brackets or bungee cord and hook as supplied with most bag won't work. Bag will just hang loose on the upper platform rails.

The frame has no fittings so you would need to use some clamp on mounts - reducing the load capacity a lot.

Son Edelux II compatibility

Hi,
I have a SON Edelux II light fitted to the crown of my forks. Will it work as it is with this rack, or will it need mounting on the rack itself?

99% of front racks will not allow your light to be fitted to the crown, the rack will be in the way.
