Details
Tubus Tara Big Apple low-rider front carrier for use with fat-bike size tyres.

The durable Tubus low-rider - for more than 25 years it has been traveling around the world. It has been improved over time, making it even more solid. For example, three individual holes were turned into one longitudinal hole. The entire mounting to the fork has been improved, making the Tara even more compatible with various forks allowing a more flexible positioning. We have now given our front wheel classic and elegant mounting option for our headlight holder.

With it's straightforward design, Tara is easy to mount in various positions. When used in combination with e.g. the Logo, they make the perfect match for long distance touring.

Not suitable for mounting on spring or carbon forks without eyelets. The fork must be approved by the manufacturer, or by the bicycle manufacturer for mounting a carrier. There must be no crimping.

Overall Product Rating 5 / 5
Excellent for off-road tourers (but not for fat bikes).

I recommend this product
ConsWeird naming, and limited hub compatibility.
ProsSturdy, Tubus quality, plenty of adjustment.
I've got 622x50 gravel tyres and this fits very well, and looks just right, without excessive gaps or so on. Tubus say it'll take up to 60mm tyres and I think that'd work fine. 60mm tyres do not make a "fat bike", though.

I have a 110mm front hub and I'm right on the width limit (134mm), so keep an eye out for that.

This also has thicker tubing than their older models. It looks very heavy-duty, which could be a good or bad depending on what you want.

The little hole at the top looks useful, but I can't find an off-the-shelf bracket that makes use of it, so for now it just collects mud.

Overall, it's a typical Tubus rack, which means lots of adjustments and sturdy construction.
