Lovely piece of kit. I needed an extra low gear and this is just the job. I have an Ultegra 6800 set up which isn't quite low enough for me, but this is a help on the steepest hills.

I screwed in the B screw a bit and fitted a new chain using the full length (114), although the 112 would probably have been ok.

So far so good. Now, if only Shimano would make a Super Compact crankset.

Will this fit on Shimano Deore 9/10-speed hub?
By

Hi,

I have the Shimano 105 7000 Groupset (11-speed) on my bike, and a Shimano Deore 9/10-speed rear hub. Will the above cassette fit?
Yes, however, it will only fit on ROAD freehub bodies.
Would this work with sram force 1x groupset with a long cage rear mech?

11-42 version compatible with standard HG freehub ?
By
20 Jan 2020
Is the 11-42 version compatible with a standard HG freehub, or does it require a 1.8mm wider "11 speed road" freehub ?

Can you please also specify which sprockets are individual and which ones are held together by a spider on the 11-42 model? Many thanks.
These require road freehubs, they are road 11 speed width.

The four largest sprockets sit on spiders (2 and 2) with the rest being individual.

Can I use this with ultegra di2 to replace a ultegra 11/32

Thinking of the 11/36
You will not be able to use an 11/36 at all unless you extend the mech hanger or some other such modification. This cassette should work fine on the Shimano set, but we would always recommend fitting Shimano.

Thanks
Any Feedback from Users

I'm looking for an extra low gear on my Ultegra 6800. I've read it should work, even though it's 3T more than Shimano recommend. Any feedback from people who've bought a 11-36 or 12-36? Is a Road Link needed, or just adjustment of the B screw? Thanks.
Hi, we have no direct feedback from people who are trying this setup. Our recommendation is not to use a Road Link, we believe it will give poor shifting performance at the top end gears because the jockey wheel will be to far from the sprockets. Adjustment of the B screw should suffice. Thanks.
What rear derailer is advised for the 12-36t option?
By

I know ultegra RD long cage says 11-32 max but you have stated it may work with 12-36 in a previoius question (untested though)...assuming it doesnt work, then what derailer will actually work with this 12-36 cassette on a road bike? Thankyou.
Hi,

These cassettes were designed with 11spd Shimano road derailleurs in mind, we just have never tested them. They would be unlikely to work with an 11spd MTB derailleur though as it would have too much clearance to shift properly.

Thanks.

Does this fit on a Shimano-compatible 11-speed road hub without any additional spacer? Thanks
Hi,

This cassette should fit onto a Shimano 11spd road freehub body without the need need for any additional spacers.

Thanks.
11/34 Or Larger Cassette Compatible With 6800 Shimano Derailleur
By
25 Apr 2016
Hi,

In theory these IRD 11-34 and 11-36 cassettes are designed for use with Shimano road derailleurs like the 6800, but we have never tested these and they are technically larger than what Shimano recommend so we can't say for sure i'm afraid.

Thanks.
Rear Mech Compatibility With Ird Elite 11 Speed Cassette Shimano Comp
By
06 Apr 2016
Hi.

Could I run an IRD Elite 11 Speed Cassette Shimano Compatible (12 – 30 option) with my Ultegra 6870 DI2 Short Cage Rear Mech?
Hi,

Although you will need to adjust your rear derailleur it should be fine for use with a cassette of that size.

Thanks.
