Question

On A 10-Sp 105 5700 53-39 Chainset Can I Swap To A 54T Chainring?

My current chainset is 105 10-sp 5700 53-39. Can I swap either:
a) just the outer ring to a 54t
b) both the rings to accommodate a 54t outer
c) neither, new chainset would be required

Hi,

You'll need to adjust your front derailleur, but otherwise it should be able to cope with a 39-54T combo. The shifting won't be as good as with the original Shimano ring, but it should still shift and work okay.
