Great option

ProsPrice, quality
A great option, I bought two sets to change the gearing on a couple of my bikes.
Both bikes have Shimano RSX cranksets (36/46 standard) so the 34/50 combination brings me into line with my riding mates on modern bikes.
Shifting is smooth, quality is good, steel will last longer than I will.

ConsNone if you get straight rings / teeth
ProsPrice, made of steel
Bought these as the big ring on my bike had worn out (Ultegra FC-6750) and they work fine. On my 50 mile test ride I didn't notice any difference in the quality of shifting, but this is only after I had to spend some time before straighting the big ring out and two teeth. Drivetrain runs nice and smoothly. Will be buying another set for my 105 FC-5750 equipped bike.

Whilst you can't recommend their use for 9/10/11s I can assure you they do work . I have one fit to 10s and one fit to 11s both Shimano 105 and they work with absolutely no problems at all.

ProsPrice. Quality
Bought for my winter bike which is a 2015 Trek 1.1, I've put them onto a 105 / 10 speed compact crankset and the rest of the groupset is 8 speed Shimano Claris...it all runs and shifts perfectly. And for £5.99 for both chainrings it's bargain of the century...the steel rings should last longer than the alloy ones they replaced, there's a very slight weight penalty of course but I'm not going to be racing Chris Froome any time soon so who cares...
A bargain

Is the Outer chainwheel effectively flat? Seeking to replace a slightly dished cheap one that gives a terrible chain line with little or no room to use narrower BB.
the outer chainring is slightly dished by approx 3mm.

Hope this helps!

Chain Ring Compatibility
By
24 Oct 2016
Since the inner width of 8,9,10,11 speed chains are all the same - it's only the
external width that gets narrower as you go from 8 to 11 speed, why can't these rings be used with 10 speed setups - what makes them 7/8 speed only ?
Hi,

9, 10 and 11spd chains share the same internal dimensions but 8spd chains are the same size as 5, 6 and 7spd chains so the teeth on their chainrings are noticeably wider.

Thanks.
Are These Rings 10 Speed

As both these chainrings and your crank arms are 110BCD then they should be perfectly compatible.

Thanks.
Will These Chainrings Fir Shimano Fc R700?
By

Hi,

Although you will notice a drop in performance, as both these chainrings and your chainset are 110BCD the chainrings will be able to fit to your cranks.

Thanks.
