I recommend this product
We bought a Cannondale RT2 ten years ago and I changed the smallest ring to 26t. This worked for four or five years with the original FSA middle and top rings but when I replaced these we got problems with the chain getting caught up badly now and again.
I saw this Thorn special early this year and asked what it was made of and what chain types would work. The answer was steel and 9 speed and below. I ignored this answer and ordered one. Trial fitting in different rotations on the spider found the best position to make use of the pins on the new outer TA ring and a new 24t inner went on too. The ring is made of an Al alloy and although slightly thicker than the 9/10 TA ring bought at the same time it works fine using a KMC 10 speed chain. With such a big range I have to be careful not to go above gear 5 in the smallest ring. I still don't know if it is a long-lasting alloy or not so am ordering a spare

Asking because some of your older special rings were 7/8 speed only.
SJS Customer Service:
