Does this join by a snap on connector or clip

I received my chain today and on unwrapping it I can see a 3 part link with a plate which looks as though it just clips on to join the chain - is this correct or am I missing s clip? Thanks for your help

This is correct, a back plate with two pins attached, and then a front plate.
