Bikes with hub gears are designed to fit the 1/8 inch chain.

The 1/8th inch chain is 9mm wide so why reference a 9 speed chain,which is 6.5 to 7 mm wide and not as well optimised for wear. Why 9 speed since the Alfine is 8 or 11 speed.

For this you would need a hollow tech 2 style of BB tool- such as the Park Tool BBT-9.

The chainset gives 42.7mm chain line, ... this is the measurement from the centre line of the bike to the middle of the ring, I THINK that's pretty perfect for a Brompton, HOWEVER there may be issues of frame clearance, copy and paste this linkto read an article of someone trying something similar:

Chainline

I have a 68mm bottom bracket shell on my bike but my current chain line is 50mm and works fine. Is it possible to add a spacer to this bottom bracket shell to increase the chainline

You may be able to add some spacers, but you are unlikely to get from 42.7 to 50mm.

Providing the frame is BSA threaded and 68mm bottom bracket shell this should fit, but we would recommend we could not give 100% confirmation until test fitting.

Width Of Bb Shell?

I'm intending to fit this on a bike with a 73mm BB shell, and a Rohloff hub (a Thorn Raven Sport Tour, in fact) - will it fit the shell width, and will the chainline be OK?

Hi, unfortunately this will not work. The bottom bracket shell is 68mm Road & it is not compatible with anything else I'm afraid.

The info implies that the bottom bracket is included, but this seems unusual. Can you confirm that I will not end to purchase an additional bottom bracket? If I do need to, can you recommend on for this chain set?

Could you confirm that it's 110mm PCD as it says in description or 130mm PCD?
