ConsProbably not the lightest

ProsEasy to maintain

I bought this for my winter fixed wheel bike - to replace the existing polished aluminium cranks. Trying to keep polished aluminium looking good on a winter bike was proving too hard, so easy to clean gloss black seems a better option. The crankset seems good quality and is running very smoothly. I bought a new chain and rear sprocket (48 x 18) at the same time, and it's all running well and looking good.

Could you recommend a chain guard that would fit this chainring?

Hi,

The best option we'd be able to recommend is one of the Thorn chain guards, but you would need longer bolts and spacers to be able to fit it. these are SJSC part number 11081.

Will This Fit An Active 7Spd Folder?

Hi,

If your bike has a square taper bottom bracket then in theory this chainset will fit, but as we don't stock your bike we can't say for sure how well it will work. The chainline may not be the same and if the dimensions are different then it may effect the fold, without having the bike here its hard to say I'm afraid.

Unfortunately these cranks are not available without the chain ring, so you have to purchase it as a full chainset I'm afraid.

Hi Can This Chainset Be Fitted Onto A Brompton?

I would like to fit using the existing brompton bottom bracket will this be possible?

Hi,

Unfortunately this chainset cannot be fitted to a Brompton, when used with Brompton's bottom bracket the chain line is miles out so the chain will not stay on properly. If used with a shorter bottom bracket, you can correct the chainline but the cranks will catch on the rear frame when you fold the bike.

Can This Be Supplied With A Smaller Sized Ring?

Hi,

We stock a version of this chainset with a 46T ring which is SJSC part 23289. We are also able to order in this chainset with a 42T chainring, but as this will need to be a special order it would have to be done other the phone. Outside of those ring options the only other option you have is to purchase this chainset and fit a separate 130mm BCD chainring of your choice.
