The ROM-Pedal, also called pedal pendulum or swing crank, enables people with a limitation in the knee or hip to cycle again. When cycling, the proper leg stretch/extension will remain the same. The eccentric pedal device will be mounted against the existing crank (pedal arm) of your bike. Please see the Video in the links to see the device in action.

Features:
- Cycling with a 70 degree knee angle (flexion). In comparison: when you do not have any limitation in your hip or knee, the required bending (flexion) of your knee is about 120 degrees when the pedal is in the most upward position
- Adjustable towards 85-95 and 100-110 degrees knee flexion
- It maintains the proper cycling position, leg extension and foot placement on the pedal
- A quick and easy installation with the use of your exisitng pedal within 15 minutes
- Suitable for all types of bikes (including electric)
- Sold per side (please select for left or right leg in drop-down menu)

ProsEasy to install and it works.

This attachment has given my wife her freedom again to cycle after an unsuccessful total knee replacement which left her with reduced knee movement, therefore unable to ride a bike.

ProsEasy to fit

I’m struggling to walk/ride due to an arthritic knee which resulted in a reduction in my knee flexibility. My son pointed out this adaptation to fit my bike and what an absolute brilliant piece of engineering. Fitted in about 10/15, having checked and rechecked the positioning. First ride was a little hesitant but after about 10 minutes it was like the “good old days “. It was great to be back on the road.?????????

ProsSo easy to set up

Having a deformed knee ( bullet through the joint from NZ army stint in Vietnam) i had given up ever to ride a bike until i came across this crank attachment on the internet. I just had to try it out Made contact with SJS Cycles ten days later it was on a new E bike and off i went just like it was 53 years ago .Cant believe its so good . This product has changed my life, I haven't been able to ride a bike for 50 years because of a knee injury. this pedal is perfect.

ProsReasonable price ,well made , easy to fit and does the job

Ok so having ruptured my quad tendons in a sports Accident
Never thought I would ride a bike again
Stumbled upon this ROM pedal, bought item with trepidation as I only have 80 degrees knee flexion maximum
Fitted said item as per Excellent instructions and hey presto back on bike again brilliant have only ridden the bike a couple of times but it’s a great idea
Mine is fitted to a Specialised Rockhopper SL
Easy to fit will keep you posted if it stands the test of time
Easy to maintain just check the tightness of the clamping bar and a little grease
Thank you SJScycles for getting me back on a bike again

Pros3 settings to choose from

I'm 74 and just had a full left knee replacement. Having limited flexibility in my knee I couldn't ride my bike so looked on Internet and this pedal came up. A tad expensive but ordered one. What a superb piece of engineering it is. Back on my trusty bike again, best physiotherapy there is.

Wow. Just WOW! I could not pedal with my right knee because of a knee replacement. I did not regain full movement/range of motion so was restricted on peddling. Now this device has allowed me to very comfortably cycle once again. I searched the internet looking for a solution and saw this item on a trike but they would not sell me the part without buying their trike. Finally I found SJS CYCLES! So glad they offer this item. I recommend you give it a try…

Can I use this to correct 13mm leg length difference?

Can this be used to correct leg length discrepancies? My son is 24 and when he cycles his shorter leg causes twisting and pain. The leg is 13 mm shorter. Thanks , Ian
