Also, is a puller reqd to get the drive side off the spindle?

Thank you for your enquiry. This chainset uses an MTB 68/73mm shell bottom bracket, Shimano recommend using their BB-MT501 however you could use any Hollowtech II option as long as its for an MTB setup.
There is no puller for the spindle, this is attached to the driveside crankset, removing the unit is done by undoing the crank arm fixing bolt, clamp bolts & plate that are fixed to the left arm crank arm.
