This chainguard fits in place of an outer chainring on a double/triple, can be made to fit as well as three rings by using longer bolts and 4.6mm spacers if the crank has enough space between the arm and the outer ring. If in doubt ring for advice.

I was wondering what bolts I need to hold this together with a Thorn 104mm BCD 4 Arm Reversible Single Chainring 3/32 Inch - Black - 36T and a 104 spider? Do I need any spacers?
SJS Customer Service:
Hi there,
As you would be using this like it is an outer chainring, you don't need any special bolts or spacers, just bolts for a double chainset.
Thanks

Hi,
If it is the dedicated Shimano XT double then it will not fit properly as the very outer position is not designed to take any rings and mounting it inside the chainring tabs will cause it to push the chainring too far in. If it is originally one of the triple ring chainsets then it will fit with only longer bolts required.
Thanks.
