This chainguard fits in place of an outer chainring on a double/triple, can be made to fit as well as three rings by using longer bolts and 4.6mm spacers if the crank has enough space between the arm and the outer ring. If in doubt ring for advice.

I have an Alfine FC S400 with 39 T chainring and no guard, will this fit, and what length bolts would b needed? Also will it fit a Brompton crank with replacement 39 T chainring
SJS Customer Service:
No it will not fit a Brompton crank as they are designed for an inner ring only, bolting to the outside is unsafe. It would sit quite proud from the chainring as it is designed for a 42t not a 39t.
Thanks
Thanks

Hi, I have FSA Vero SINGLE RING 5 bolt chainset 130 bcd and I have converted from 1/8'' width ring to a 39 tooth, 10 spd chainring for use with a 10 spd block and no front changer. I want to use a chaingring guard and found the Thorn one. I think it will work but I would need correct length chainring bolts and spacers to mount the guard clear of the ring. Not sure what to order, can you help? Regards, John
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
You'll need a set of longer double chainring bolts, the basic ID ones are SJSC part 27234 (just select the double option) and you'll need a set of spacers, these are SJSC part 33189, we'd recommend selecting the 3.8mm size option.
Thanks.
