Will lights that are powered by the hub stay on when the bike is stopped at traffic lights etc.

Hi there,
Yes they can be used to power devices such as phones, In terms of the lights it would depend if the light has a standlight function. If it does it will stay on, If it doesnt it will not. The standlight function stores a little bit of power so the light stays on, so even at the end of a ride you could leave it on and after 2-5 mins depending on charge the light will go off on its own.

Hi I am building a new brevet/touring bike. I have not used a dyno hub before, are they suited for everyday use? can the dynamo function be enabled and disabled for when its not required?
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
Hub dynamos are indeed suitable for everyday use. the hub itself cannot be turned off, but all hub dynamo lights have switches so when they're turned off there is no current being drawn from the hub.
Thanks.
