Optimise your charging.
Connect your dynamo to a power bank rather than directly to a phone — phones expect stable voltage and can glitch or stop charging otherwise.
Optimise charging -
Only charge one device at a time if power output is low (e.g., 3–6W typical from dynamos).
Prioritize low-draw devices like lights, or charge power banks while riding and use those for phones later.
Ride at a Steady Pace
Most dynamos reach peak efficiency between 15–25 km/h (9–15 mph).
Lower or higher speeds reduce output, so maintaining a steady cadence helps get consistent power.
- Converts the energy of your hub dynamo in 5V USB voltage. Maximum charge current: 1000mA
- For Android, iPhone, Windows, GPS
- For some mobile (some iPhones and modern Android) the useage of a PowerBank is recommended as otherwise the mobile might not draw the maximum available current from the Cycle2Charge
- Universal usage due to standard USB outlet
- The high effieciency makes the Cycle2Charge perfect for every day usage
- 500mA outlet (USB specification) already at 12km/h
- 1000mA charge current already at 21km/h
- Suitable to charge buffer accumulators (PowerBank or similar)
- Secure overvoltage protection also for fast downhill rides
- Double layer design for maximum stability and corrosion protection
- Inner parts made of anodized aluminium
- Outer shell made of impact proof and corrosion resistant plastic
Operation:
- Easy mounting on every Ahead head set
- Just replace the existing head cap with the Cycle2Charge
- Additional adapter allows the mounting to handlebar (sold seperately)
- Simple connection to the hub dynamo
- Outer is turnable to protect the USB-port against water and soil
- One hand usage even with gloves
-Cable length approx 115cm (bare wire end ready to fit to any dynamo hub connector).
-2 Year warrenty
-Designed and assembled in Germany
Note:
- The device is only water resistant when the topcap is rotated to close USB port, please see page 25 of the instructions.
- DO NOT subject the charger to high pressure water jet cleaning!
- The connector is a JST PAP-03V-S where the pin2 may NOT be connected

Can I use this with a Joule dynohub
By Peter

I have a Joule hub dynamo and I want to charge a power bank from it. As I understand it I have to convert its DC to AC. Is this the device I want to do that?
SJS Customer Service:
Yes this will work with your hub and allow you to charge to a power bank or other compatible devices. SK 07/03/24
