Perfect for my needs

I recommend this product
ConsI never believe in my soldering
ProsDesign, convenience
I am a very poor solderer but I do know that you need to get the plug hot before attaching the wire. That was enough for me to get this done. The plug is very well designed for the hapless solderer! I needed a slick way of disconnecting my light so I can remove the Tailfin (and light) easily and this was perfect.
The best connector for SON Coax Cable

ConsRequires soldering
I needed to add a SON rear light to our tandem. ... the 1.9m supplied length of coax cable was to short,, so I had to add an extension piece ... Also if you have a bike with SnS connectors you may want to fit this, even if the cable length is OK.
Yes it requires soldering, Yes, it's fiddly to do and assemble. Once done however it's solid and reliable. It requires a good positive push to mate, but one done that sucker isn't going to come apart.
In addition to the heat shrink just to make it a bit more water proof, I used some Collinite 485 Insulating wax, just lightly smeared on the outside of the join.

Good product and does the job perfectly, although the soldering of the wires can be a little fiddly, but the instructions are clear.

ConsPerhaps expensive but worth the peace of mind
ProsQuality products that will not let you down
My dynamo rear light became unreliable, sometimes on and then off without no obvious reason. So, I ripped out all the cableling and replaced it with Schmidt coaxial cable and a junction just behind the BB. Everything now works fine and the rear light is perhaps brighter than when new. I think the cabling will outlive the bike.

Is this a crimp or solder connector?

Also wanting to confirm its suitability as a one piece only required cable 'splitter' on a separable Moulton with dynamo lighting? Many thanks in advance. Apologies if it's a dumb question.
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
This item requires a solder connection. It can indeed be used as a one piece cable splitter.
Thanks.
