A rare find in a disc brake world

ProsPrice quality
So glad to have found this fork in an increasingly disc brake obsessed world. If you are looking for a good solid fork with versatile fittings for a traditional steel audax or light touring bike - you can't beat them.

Striking just the right balance between springy and solid, they are direct and neither too snappy or ponderous in steering.

50mm offset and 380mm crown to release, they are a great direct OEM swap for genesis equilibrium framesets.

which brake reach is needed?
By

Hey,
is that fork designed fork for short reach rim brakes (39-49mm) or for longer reach brakes (47-57mm)?

Cheers
Hi
Thank you for your enquiry. This fork would require a deep drop brake like the Shimano BR-R451 with a 47-57mm reach. I hope this helps.

Will the forks fit a 10mm axel?
By
12 Jan 2021
Hi there. It seems most forks fit only 9mm for quick release. However I have a Swytch electric front wheel which has a 10 mm axel so need to check if it would fit without having to file down. Thanks
No, you would need to file down the fork dropout and we absolutely DO NOT advise that any of our QR Thorn forks are suitable for hub motors.

Thanks!

Which is the proper fork for the 550 Audax, and can one go up or down one size, with the intent of making the steering a bit less responsive?
We have forwarded your message to the team at Thorn so they can provide you with the best response to your query.
