ConsFailed after 830 miles!

ProsLovely to look at, smooth shifting, great steps between gears.

Despite the price, I made the splurge. Beautiful looking and I loved the gearing. Smooth changes and the steps were great with my 6-speed Shimano friction shifters. However... after 4 months the outer retaining cup came loose and then within .5 mi. the bearings fell out and the freewheel seized. Fortunately, I was just a mile from home, otherwise I would have been in a very bad situation. Somewhat shocking after 830 miles... so I'm somewhat guarded. I think I'm going to try another one with the optimistic hope that the previous one was a fluke. Stay tuned... I'll write a follow up review.

ConsShifting possibly not quite as slick as e.g. Shimano

ProsAvailability of different tooth ratios.

I've bought two of these recently when upgrading old bikes. They seem to be of reasonable quality and it's good they come in a range of tooth sizes.
