I recommend this product
ConsMake sure it works with yor changer.
ProsSuper low gear
Just a standard block with a mega low gear for those hills.

ConsThe step from 2nd (24T) to 1st (34T) seems too extreme
ProsQuiet freewheel and changes gear smoothly. The ultra-low bottom gear is useful for steep hills.
It's fine, I just think it would be so much better if it had Shimano's standard 6-speed ratios 14/16/18/21/24/28 plus the big 34 sprocket.

I got it to replace the old 5-speed freewheel on my girlfriend's bike with single chainring to give her a wider range of gears, but she hates the big jump from 2nd to 1st so much she never uses the 34T. Shame.

1. Is this a seven speed, because the photograph only seems to show six sprockets ?
2. And please confirm the teeth on each sprocket - your listing says the bottom two are 24 and 34, but the photo shows a 28
Thanks, Ian
Hi, this is 14-34, our photo is wrong (we will update it asap) Thanks 11/10/2019
What is the difference between shimano freewheels?

What is the difference between the Shimano MF-TZ500 and E-MF-TZ31 freewheels? Is it the spacing between the rings? If so which is the narrower of the two (back to front)?

Hi there,

The spacing of the two is the same. The MF-TZ500 is a new model meaning that there has been some changed. This one is also indexed for SIS Shifters.

Thanks.
