Clamp?

On the website (http://www.sturmey-archer.com/en/products/detail/sls30-brazed-on) it's stated that there's a "HSJ981 with 28.6mm clamp" featured, does that mean it can also be used on bikes without brazed on mounts?
Is there indeed a clamp included that will make it possible to put it any place on a 28.6mm bike's (down)tube?

SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
This version of the shifter does not come with a clamp so this is for bikes with braze on fittings already in place. You receive everything that is pictured.
Thanks.

Fixing Under Saddle
By Neil Baldwyn

Hi,
I wondered if the 3 Speed Sturmey Archer SLS30S3 Braze On Thumbshifter HSJ981 would be suitable for fixing under the saddle. I'm rebuilding and old bike with an AW hub on it and was originally looking to convert to a single speed for the aesthetics of it, but someone has suggested i might be able to hide the shifter away under the seat should i ever decide that shifting gears would be a good idea.
Cheers
Neil

Hi,
In theory there is nothing stopping you mounting the shifter under the seat, it would very much be a case of trial and error about how you actually mount it though. As well as requiring different mounting hardware you would also have to be careful of clearance issues when shifting.
Thanks.
