ConsNot built to last, obsolescent (?)

ProsFits existing bike without modification, works well

I bought this to replace the previous shifter on my town bike (Giant Boulder City) which had failed due to a smallI plastic internal component breaking. It's happened before (the bike is over 20 years old) and I expect it'll happen again. As these parts seem to be thin on the ground I suspect they're obsolete so I expect that the next time I'll need to convert the bike to more conventonal thumb shifters.
