The Rohloff Twist-Shifter works with two shift cables. When the Twist-Shifter is rotated forward (direction gear #14), then the rear shift cable 14 is pulled.

When the Twist-Shifter is rotated backward (direction gear #1), then the front shift cable 1 is pulled. The indexing of the shifting lies not in the Twist-Shifter as with common designs, but inside the hub. There is no wear on the indexing system nor need to adjust it.

ConsCables difficult to remove. Numbers likely to rub off with wear.

ProsFeels a bit better than old version. Torx better than hex grub screws.

The 2 Torx screws that clamp it to the habndlebar will hopefully be less liable to seize up than the tiny hex grub screws used on the previous version. Numbers are likely to rub off but we will see! Cables were very difficult to remove from this version when I had to refit them. Feels a bit better than old version. Works correctly.

Torx screws

Hi, I don't suppose you happen to sell replacement torx screws for this shifter? I managed to shear one of them in half when i was fitting it to a new set of bars. I think I was abit over zealous with the tightening.

Ambidextrous?

Can this shifter be used for a left hander as well as right? It looks designed for right handed shifting?

This shifter is for right hand shifting only, if you wanted a left hand shifter then use part number #27180 SK 29/06/23

Can I buy just the twister rubber rather than the complete unit?

Straight swap for old shifter?

Hi, I have a 2nd hand tandem with the old style rohloff shifter which is very worn. Can I do a direct swap for this new style or are cable ends/lengths different and I need to Swati cables too? Thanks.

Yes they use the same cables, but we would always recommend replacing them to ensure the best shifting.
