Will It Work On A Vintage Peugeot

Will it work with simplex derailleur and french malard cassette
SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
As these shifters can be switched to friction they should work okay when in this setting. It is unlikely that they will work in the indexed setting, but due to the age of the Simplex derailleurs we have no way of knowing for sure.
Thanks.

Shimano TY20 6 Spd BandOn Shifters for 1" Quill Stem 22.2mm
Is this for a 1 inch stem ( ~26mm ) or 22.2 mm.
I'm looking for an inexpensive stem shifter for a 26mm stem to shift some old 3*7 Shimano SIS, so I'm hoping to find some friction shifters that will do the job. I was also wondering if part #23205 would adapt to the job. My cable routing on the frame won't suit donwtube shifters. It's a 1992 MTB I thought I would put some drop bars on. Shifting is the last problem to be solved. I think bar end shifters and thumbies would fail the 'inexpensive' test.

Hi,
The product description is correct, forks with a 1" steerer tube took stems that were 22.2mm as the forks are measured externally and the stem fits internally. Your best option would be too try and fit SJSC part 23205 and use something to shim it down to the desired size.
Thanks.

SJS Customer Service:
Hi,
We have no 7spd specific version but there is nothing stopping you using SJSC part number 5827 for 7spd as it uses friction shifting for both levers.
Thanks.
