A handlebar that offers a great deal of different positions but cosmetically challenged:

PLEASE NOTE: These handlebars are not perfectly flat / symmetrical in build. For some reason there is around a 5 mm difference in height between the two ends of the bar.

- We have complained about this to Modolo yet they seem unable to do better, we only sell this product because it offers a range of hand positions. Please do not order them if you think that you could not live with the above issues!

The Yuma shape, born in 1992 at Modolo, has had a sensational success in the Northern European market. Yuma offers a perfect protection for the hands, absorbs vibration from the road surface and with its 3 grip positions, it allows the rider to change their riding position - a great relief for trekking riders.

- Width: 570 mm (center to center)
- Clamp Diameter: 25.4 mm (1")
- Grip Section Diameter: 22.2 mm (7/8")

Consvery narrow ends
Prosmany hand positions, look great in leather bar tape
These bars are fantastic, offering a continuing bunch of varying hand positions for long days on the bike.

Despite these being exactly the shape of bar I was looking for, I was put off by the note stating the 5mm difference in height and almost didn't buy them. However I am glad I did get them, as I cannot even notice the difference in size. (So I've just enjoyed the discount!)

The bars get very narrow at the ends. Too narrow for bar plugs. I had to cut my Brooks cork bar ends so that they would squeeze in, which unfortunately weakened them causing one to break. That's the only little issue I've had with these bars.

Taping these bars
By

Hello! I wanted to ask if you have any experience using these bars, and especially taping them. The ends are much narrower than the middle section of the bar, and annoyingly the change in diameter happens before the ends of the straight section, exactly where I would expect the main grips to be. Is this intentional, or should one apply more tape on the narrower part to smooth out the transition? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks a lot! Artur
As when taping any drop bars maintain a suitable overlap and a constant and steady tension on the tape while wrapping, this should cover differences in diameter. SK 29/09/23
Handlebar Height Variance
By

You mentioned there is a 5mm difference in height on the Yuma handlebars. By any chance, is it the right side which is higher? Or does it vary?
Hi,

On the few I have checked from our stock the left hand side is higher, but this may not be guaranteed, it is more likely that they are varied.

Thanks.
