Looks great, feels great. I love it. I used this along with the Nitto Techtronic stem on the restoration of my 1979 Trek 720 - perfect combo!

ConsUncomfortable
ProsLooks good
I personally found the elaborate curves and subtle angles uncomfortable. Rather than better and more options to hold the bars I found no matter where I put my hands the angle of my wrist was uncomfortable. I couldn’t manage a whole day out and eventually had to return to a more conventional shaped drop bar. So sorry the bar didn’t work for me
Very comfy for long rides/tours

I love these bars and find them really comfortable.
Being tall, the upward slope on the bar gives me a little extra height on the handlebars, and the drop position is lovely (way better then the so-called "ergonomic" bars).
Definitely a proper Touring bar rather than a racing one.

ConsAlmost 5cm narrower at the top end
ProsWell made and functional
When deciding to upgrade the narrow bars on my old Galaxy I thought is £45 too much. Our LBS had secondhand bars that may have done for £25 so instead of looking at £45 I was looking at the difference of only £20 which makes these good value. They are well made with a good finish. The only point to be wary of is because they splay out the bar ends may be 45cm but they are almost 5cm narrower on the straight width portion.

Proscomfort
As expected these bars are comfortable for my easy style of riding. Another advantage I hadn't thought about until I tried them is that as the bar end is that bit wider than with a standard drop bar, my rear view mirror is now much easier to see whether I'm on the tops, sides or drops.

ProsComfortable
I've put these on my Moulton TSR9 which formerly had straight MTB style bars. I wanted the additional hand positions offered by drops. The bike is used for day rides and exploring mainly, and these have a nice comfortable shape. Bar diameter away from the clamps is 23.8mm.

Are these rando bars compatible with STI shifters? Will the shifters line up correctly?
By

Hello & thank you for your enquiry.
These bars are compatible with STI levers.
Kind regards, PC 17/7/23.
Hi. What width is the 25.4mm OD central clamping section?
By
02 Aug 2019
Possible use with Tranz-X Twinholder which you state needs 86mm at 25.4mm OD.
Hi, the central section is 100mm. The Twinholder should be fine. Thanks 02/08/2019

Does The First Section Of The Drops Actually Rise Up?
By

I see I did not formulate my question clearly enough. I meant the section after the bars have "curved around forwards".
Hi,

The bottom section of the drops is flat and does not curve up.

Thanks.
Does The First Section Of The Drops Actually Rise Up?
By

The main advantage of the randonneur shape is that you can ride with your hands holding the bar there, and your hands and forearms in a straight line. I cannot tell from the photos whether that is the case in this model.
Hi,

Yes the first section does rise up, the bars spread away from the clamp and rise in height slightly before curving around forwards to begin the drop.

Thanks.
Measure
By

Hi,

afaik this handlebar has a kind of "trapez/triangle" shape. So i wonder how/where are the 45cm measured? or: whats the widht where the hands rest on the brake levers. I would need 42cm c/c at this spot. I hope you can help me.

thak you.

fabian
Hi,

The 45cm is measured at the bottom of the drops, so at the widest part of the handlebars. The width at the top of these bars where the brake levers would sit is close to 38cm.

Thanks.
Handlebar Clamp Size
By
13 May 2014
Hi, I have a Cinelli stem that states 26.4 clamp size. Will this close down to fit the Nitto B135AA 25.4 bars or is a shim required?
Hi,

Unfortunately you won't be able to use your stem with these bars without a shim, you will need to keep to same size which your stem is. The only shim we have that fits that size is a seat post one. It will work for a stem, it will just require a small amount of modification. You'll need to shorten it to the length of the clamp and to cut a second slit into it so it can be clamped over the handlebars. this product is SJSC part number 20717, all you'll need to do is select the 26.4mm size from the dropdown box.

Thanks.
