Ordered this to replace an old headset on my nearly 40 year old steel touring frame. While I have not fitted it yet, the headset looks very well made, highly polished and the bearing turn very smoothly. The item arrived quite quickly, considering my location in Orkney.

In the 80s and 90s these were fitted as standard by many famous frame builders. I remember all the Mercians in my local bike store in Cambridge (Howes) came with Tange Levin headsets. These headsets last a long time, are well sealed from water and dirt and because they have bearing races can be easily dismantled and cleaned and re greased. These have ground high precision bearing races. I've never thought there is any difference in quality between these and a Campagnolo Record headset, made by that company in its heyday. Great choice for a steel frame restoration of course.

Well made with a good chrome finish means that it did not mark when tightening or adjusting as poorer quality ones do.
