I actually purchased this new switch and bracket because the "U" clamp had broken and it's not sold separately. A bit of a swallow to pay £40 including postage but the gear change switch not moving about on the handle bar is much better than I expected it to be and I can almost say it was worth it! I should point out that I think the "U" bracket was probably damaged when my bike was stolen.
