If you have an original plain steel one. Get one of these! The steel ones weld themselves into the aluminium hollow shaft. Which requires a rebuilt / new dynamo.

I recommend this product
I have a kickbike and live in Portland, OR. Some rogue stole the rear skewer to the smaller tire and I was hard pressed to find a replacement. This one works perfectly! Thanks Britain, truly you ARE great!

What is the diameter of the rod?
By

What is the diameter of the rod? My SP dynamo (74mm) has got a 5mm hole.
These are 5mm, suitable for an SP dynamo.

Does it suit for a 83mm front hub for on a kids bike?
By
11 May 2020
most kids bikes are not QR, this fits through a hollow axle. IF you have a hollow axle I don't think this (which OUGHT to be 9mm too short will work, unless you have VERY thin dropouts (this would be OK for 74mm hub with 6mm thick dropouts) RT
Is this suitable for Brompton front hooks?
By
14 May 2018
I have an old T5 Brommie and it features a hook at the fork, enabling the fork to be fixed in the folded state.

This hook, of course, adds some distance to the axle's length necessary. So it would do for a skewer as well, I assume. Would this skewer have this additional length?
The best we can recommend is - SJS Cycles part number : 13615

Thanks
Skewer For Shutter Precision Dynamo Hub / Brompton Front
By
30 Aug 2014
I have just built a SP dynamo hub / Brompton front wheel with parts supplied by yourselves. All good and thanks for the advice re spoke lengths, it worked perfectly.

Now to put the wheel on the bike.
Is this the right skewer I need for the hub / Brompton front wheel? It's a standard M type bike steel 3 speed.

Kind regards. JK

Hi,

Yes, this is the correct skewer you need for fitting a front hub to a Brompton.

Thanks.
Qr Skewer For Single Speed Brompton Rear Axle?
By
06 Aug 2014
Can I use this for the rear axle? If not, what do you suggest I do?
Hi,

The rear axle on a single speed Brompton should be a standard axle with nuts to tighten against the frame. All Brompton hubs aside from the dynamo ones use a screw on nut axle system.

Thanks.
