ProsCheap. Lightweight. Sensible to have in spares kit.

Ordered one of these as a spare part for touring. Its lightweight, and packed in a small ziplock plasic bag. Its one of those items that if it were to fail, it would be a royal pain in the backside, so having a spare is a bit of an obvious choice. It weighs next to nothing. Glad I've got it for peace of mind.

Can it be description contains an error?

Hi.

In description, it's mentioned that this cassette joint is compatible with Shimano Alfine SG-S7000-8 - but at different internet discussions it was pointed out that latest Shimano Alfine hubs utilize a different direction when cable is pulled, thus are not compatible with older cassette joints. In particular, one such discussion was pointed to this SJSCycles page, claiming the description is incorrect.

Could you please confirm?

Can I use this with SG S505 ?

The SG-S505 is a DI2 hub, so requires a Motor unit not a cassette unit.

I need to couple a Nexus 8 hub (SG-C6001-8D ) to an 8 speed revoshift

Can I use this item, plus the nuts and washers from 37572 to do this ? The bike is an 80's Falcon and has normal 20 degree rear dropouts. I have cold set it to 132 OLD so the hub fits easily.

Hi there,

This is the correct part to use, However, the nuts are not the correct ones. The nuts can be found under part #23812. The washers in the kit are the correct ones being the 5R (Yellow) and 5L (Brown).
