a life saver (for my bike)

ConsThey set the bar VERY high for all other posers.
ProsLifesavers
I'm trying to save my 35 year old bike that I raced on in my 20s and 30s. The wheels are toast but I can save the hubs and build new wheels for the antique year wheel spacing and derailleurs if I can find a new rear axle for 35 year old hubs. Really? Who thinks that they can do that?
After a lengthy search, I find that St John St Cycles has the exact part that my poor old bike needs at a very reasonable price! Maybe they were tired of it taking up space in their shop. Who knows?
Regardless, they had what I needed at a trivial price as compared to my emotional attachment to my ancient racebike (I did win one race) and they shipped it with the Royal Mail! How cool is that?
Thank you St John St Cycles. You are a life saver for my oldest bike.
Actually my old racebike is older than my relationship with my wife, and our sons, and just about everything else on Earth. Brilliant!

Any fh-6401 freehub bodies or comparable?
By

Hi,

Im trying to restore my 6401 hubs to good order, and would like a replacement 6401 freehub body as the cups are quite badly pitted. I can't seem to find them in a new condition, not attached to a used hub, or not for lots of money. Do you have any compatible freehubs? Maybe the 1055, though I understand this used inferior steel and less refined (unpolished) bearing surfaces?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Neil
Sorry no, spares for this hub are gone and I do not see a suitable replacement for it (32Y9801) look for a complete hub in good order on eBay. RT 13/04/2020
