ConsNot cheap
ProsGenuine spare
"For want of a nail, the horse was lost." And for want of a simple nut, a bike can be useless. But for owners of a Sturmey Archer hub gear, the axle nut is not so simple. Only the specific SA spare will do the job. When I needed one, I found that none of the bicycle shops in my area carried the appropriate part. "Oh, you've got the modern version. Sorry, we don't stock those." I was mightily relieved to discover SJS Cycles, with their comprehensive range of spares. Thank you, SJSC.

Can I use HMN128 with Sturmey Archer S2C Duomatic hub?
By
16 Jan 2023
The hub already HMN388 Dome Nuts, but I find them unsightly, and would prefer the plainer HMN128.
Hi
Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately Sturmey Archer do not list this part as compatible with the S2C hub so we cannot say as to whether this would be ok to use. I am sorry that we could not help you further.

Sturmey Archer Axle Nut Hmn128: Fits Sa X_rf8(W)?
By

Hi,

Will Sturmey Archer Axle Nut HMN128 fit the axle of the SA 8 speed hub gear, x_rf8(w)? Thanks.
Hi,

Although this nut uses the same threading as the original I'd recommend sticking with the original as it was a domed nut with a longer thread allowing for a stronger connection. We do sell the domed options and they are SJSC part number 19090.

Thanks.
