ConsNot cheap!

ProsEasy to fit

Bought to replace contaminated brake shoes. Very easy to fit into hub if you follow SA instructions from internet as it is a complete unit. Sound a little rough at first but this diappears with use.

Are HSB429 and HSB430 compatible?

I have a 4 Speed 70mm Drum Brake Rear Hub (X-RD4) with a HSB429 brake plate, but I want to change it for a HSB430. Is it possible?

The fitting should be the same, but we have never tested so could not confirm.

Is this the right part for the X-RD3 hub?

The pages you link to show the 70mm brake kit for the X-RD3 hub as Sturmey Archer part HSB429. The part you list here is HSB430. Can you confirm that this will fit and work in exactly the same way? If not, do you also stock HSB429 for the X-RD3 hub as per the parts list? It's a lot to spend if it is the wrong part! Thanks.
