ConsNone - other than removing 23 year old set !

ProsSoundly engineered original equipment.

Replacement for oil damaged shoes on old Pashley Tuberider. Perfect fit - will last ‘forever’. Great service as always from SJS - thankyou.

ProsStraighforward to fit, work well

I've used several of these over the years. They are straightforward to fit the shoes come as a ready assembled unit.

They work fine. (But take care not to get oil or grease on the drum or brake surface of course).

If seems not working, check cable run - ie plenty cable, no tight corners - renew cable.

Hi I am looking for replacement shoes for my AVD windcheetah could you tell me what the internal diameter of these shoes is please.

Thank you for your enquiry. This brake kit is for a 70mm drum brake & has an internal diameter of approximately 34mm, I hope this helps.

Hi there,
I have a Sturmey Archer Elite VT. Is this all that I need to order to fix the problem of having worn out brake shoes?

Hi,

This service kit is the only replacement shoes for 70mm drum brakes that are available from Sturmey Archer. They're designed to fit most hubs but unfortunately we have never been able to test them in an Elite VT hub and due to the age of your hub we can't say for sure for if they will fit or not I'm afraid.

This item should be suitable for use with any of Sturmey Archer's 70mm drum brakes. This is not marked on the exploded view of the hubs as it is classed as a service kit rather than being a spare part as such.

I have an elite vt 70mm front hub circa 1987/88.
I need to change the shoe assembly as I think the brake cam is worn, and the cam is not available separately.
The shoes you stock look identical only mine use 1 spring washer to retain the shoes and yours uses 2.
I'm wondering (hoping) if it's a straight swap?
do you know? sorry I've looked everywhere to find this information
