ProsCompatible, may be more durable

100% satisfactory. At first I was worried that I'd ordered the wrong part, but it screwed onto the axle just fine. It's externally bigger across flats than the old (1973) one, but that's no problem, and given that the old one cracked it may be a good thing.

what the smallest thickness available?

This lock nut is 5mm, which is the narrowest one available with Sturmey Archer's thread.

Compatibility With Novatech Track Hubs

Hi, is this Lock Nut compatible with Novatech track front hub??

Hi,

I'm afraid not, those Novatec hubs use an axle with a 10x1mm thread where as this Sturmey Archer lock nut uses a Sturmey specific 13/32" thread. You will need to use a lock nut that fits to a M10 or 10x1mm thread.
