Exact Rohlof for Mercury?
By
03 Feb 2018
Is this the correct hub for the Mercury frame, with the torque stop that fits into the drop out. Also the pic shows the older version, not the lazer etched. I would want an up to date version if I have this.

How Easy Is It To Upgrade From Alfine 11To Rohloff?
By
24 Jun 2014
I currently run a bike with a Shimano Alfine 11 hub gear, which I've partially shredded, so I am considering upgrading to a Rohloff rather than replace the Alfine. Clearly I will need to replace the shifters, but is there anything else I need to consider (e.g. the Rohloff uses 2 gear cables instead of 1 easy to accommodate?). Also, I have Shimano Alfine disk brakes, would I need to replace any of those parts (e.g. rotors)? Thanks in advance
Hi,

Unfortunately with the Rohloff it's not straight forward, as well as the addition of a gear cable it also has some unique fittings, that quite often on non-Rohloff specific bikes require additional fittings like a tension arm. For full details on what will be required please email [email protected] and they will be able to provide you with a range of in depth knowledge. The rotors definitely would need to be changed though as the Rohloff hubs use a 4 bolt fixing rather than the conventional types that use either a 6 bolt fitting or Shimano's centre-lock system.

Thanks.
