Size rear hub

Does It work with 140 mm rear frame space?
Thank you for your enquiry, this is for 135mm spacing
For single speed use
By

Can I fit a single-speed freewheel to this multiple freewheel hub, and respace to around 126mm. The single-speed version of this hub has an OLN of 119mm and the axle is too short for my frame. Both hub shell bodies look identical, is it just the axles which are different lengths?
I'm afraid not as this will not accommodate the torque arm for the brake.

Thanks,

Replacement axles
By

Hello

Thinking about some new wheels for my winter training bike. This would be a nice low maintenance option, but I am worried about the quality of replacement axles. It seems freewheels have been forgotten these days.

Do any of the Wheels Manufacturing axles fit this hub?
The replacement is -SJS Cycles part number : 19231
None of the WM axles fit.

is this product a rear hub or front hub? is it possible to be installed as a front hub?

This is a rear hub, you may be able to use it as the front though.

Re-Spacing The X-Rd
By

Hi, do you think it would be possible for me to experiment with different size spacers to obtain enough room for a 5 speed (or 7 ideally) freewheel and keep it to about 126-127mm? From the diagram in the technical docs you link here it would seem doable... Thanks!
Hi,

Although in theory it should be possible to change the spacers, as these hubs are designed around a 135mm I doubt you will be able to reduce it to 126/127mm I'm afraid.

Thanks.
Tandem Drum Brake Week Build
By
22 Oct 2015
Hi, Im thinking about retrofitting a drum brake to an Orbit Gemini tandem. Its about 20 years old and has centrepull brakes and a 7 speed screw on freehub at present, with a 3 ring chainring up front. Based on this SA hub, the Rigida RM19 rip and a wheel build I make this out to about £170. I'd need to add a brake lever and cable for the the stoker to operate the brake from the back seat. What I'm wondering is how feasible this is ... in particular can you advise on how the cable routing would work as obviously at present there is no baze on or bracketry to secure the cable on the frame and unless this can be accomodated the ideas a nonstarter
Hi,

The hub comes with a chainstay clip for securing the brake arm and the cables can be secured using clamp on cable guides, you will need to check the diameter of the tubing to make sure you get the correct size but the one we recommend are SJSC part 37775. The only other thing you'll need to check is the rear hub spacing of your frame as this hub is 135mm wide within the dropouts. Other than this you should be fine fitting this hub to your tandem.

Thanks.
