For use with E-Bikes only

The classically designed aluminium bodied IQ-X E is now available in the E-Bike version. Offering 150 Lux output, this light can be used with E-Bike systems with 6 - 60V DC power supply. It incorporates B&M's IQ2 technology and offers an extensive comprehensive light field together with light at close range. This means that you get a very impressive light affect. It offers a very homogenous light field which spreads out in front of the bicycle, enabling the cyclist to accurately see everything - the immediate close range, the width of the road exceeding the kerbside and also more than 40 metres distance. Cycling in the dark becomes a pure joy and is safer than ever. The light also has B&M's integrated daytime running light system which enables other road users to see you via the use of separately incorporated LEDs.

I recommend this product
ConsPrice
ProsVery effective, bright beam, well constructed
I have recently fitted the B&M IQ-X E to our Gepida electric assist tandem and am very pleased with the results. The light beam on the road ahead is very good, particularly on unlit roads, illuminating brightly the road ahead and also with a good scatter to show the kerb.

The 'cut-off' at the top of the beam is sharp so there is little concern about dazzling on-comers and there is deliberate light spill on the sides of the lamp so one can be seen from side-on.

Mounting on the front fork was straightforward as was joining the wires. The light is switched on and off via (on my bike) the Bosch Intuvia control unit. The light casing is metal alloy and solidly constructed.

A lovely, well-functioning, well-made, bright headlight, but costly.

Gazelle Ultimate C380 HMB electric bike
By
12 Nov 2024
Hello, will this light work for a Gazelle Ultimate C380 HMB electric bike? My stock light and bracket broke. Thanks!
Yes, this is suitable for a wide range of E-bikes. You may need to consult your dealer for fitting and compatibility conformation. SK 13/11/24
Can you confirm the voltage range?
By

The B&M website says this is 5-48v but you list it at 6-60v - could you confirm?

https://www.bumm.de/en/products/e-bike-scheinwerfer/parent/164/produkt/164r60ts7-01.html?

Thanks!
I have checked and this is a 5-48V system, I have updated our records, thank you. SK 22/02/24
E-Brompton
By
24 Oct 2020
I have tried to look online to see how to fit to a Brompton Electric, but am confused.
I want to replace the existing front light with this one - so as to have a more powerful beam

1) The IQ-X E seems to have a long wire that needs to be connected to the battery. This cable is redundant. Is it possible to remove it, and open the back of the IQ-X E so as to simply connect the existing power cable

2) How does the sensor in the IQ-X interact with the light controller already on the battery pack of the E-Brompton

3) Will the IQ-X E provide a wider beam
Brompton advise their system is not suitable for alternative lighting. - Brighter lights will not work with the current set up.

Power Consumption in Daytime Running Mode
By
14 Oct 2019
The nominal power consumption of this lamp is stated as 7.5W. I assume this is for the night time mode. Normally day time running lights would consume less power. Can you tell me what that would be? Thanks.
Hi
Thank you for your enquiry, unfortunately we do not have access to that sort of information I'm afraid.
Kind Regards. 17/10/19
Can I use this with a Halfords Carrera Crosscity electric folding bike?
By
23 Jun 2019
My Halfords Carrera Crosscity electric bike comes without lights & the control panel has no on/off light function. Do you know whether this light would fit on my bike?
We would have very little idea, we do not sell Carrera, best to speak to the seller/manufacturer.

Wire length
By

How long is the wire that comes with the light?
Hi

Thank you for your enquiry, the wire for this light is 70cm long.

Thanks
Does this light unit come with an independent on/off switch?
By
15 Sep 2018
Secondly, does this light supply power for the rear light and what model of rear light would you recommend for urban commuting at night.
The light itself does not have an on / off switch, it does have a sensor and standlight though. Most E-bike displays have the on/off switch for lights on there.
You simply need to choose a regular rear light from here - https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/lighting-dynamo-rear/.

Thanks
Fitting to Bosch Activeline drive
By
20 Aug 2018
Does this light come with enough instructions to wire this into a bosch activeline? For a newbie?
also how long is the wire? I have about a 1.2m run
Hi there,

This would only come with general instructions and not any specific fitting instructions for what you want to connect it to.

Thanks.
