Great bag. Easy to access the contents, and the leather straps dont flop around like webbing, so its quicker to close after use than the Super C. Tiny bit more fiddly to open the leather straps than buckles but I prefer the straps. Much easier to cinch the side pockets closed with the leather straps than Super C webbing.

For anyone wondering if this is any bigger than the Super C, I tested both, with cushion measurement units.
Super C - 4 cushions in main compartment, stuffed, about the limit.
Camper Longflap - 4 cushions without having to open the longflap. Ran out of cushions, but probably could get 5 and maybe a coat also at fully open.
For comparison with other bags, apidura large bikepacking saddlebag is 3 cushions, ortlieb backroller pannier is easily 5, maybe 6 with only one roll to close, altura arran pannier is 4.

ConsMight require a bit more looking after...
ProsQuality, warranty, looks, feel, performance
Saw this bag on a few touring picture sites, thought it would look good on my Dawes Galaxy... Debated getting smaller bag but from past experience know that never works for me.
Bag received earlier this week, matches description, solid , quality kit, looks good and holds plenty of my personnel stuff. Coupled with my old Karrimor panniers I'll be well provided for on my next foray into Shropshire.
Might require a bit more looking after but I suspect I'll never have to, or want to, replace it.

ConsNone whatsoever as far as I am concerned.
ProsSuperb quality and faultless functionality.
My camper Longflap arrived this morning along with the Bagman Expedition QR support.
This bag just oozes quality, it is SO well made, but I knew what to expect as I owned a Carradice previously and after 30 years this is its replacement. The QR system was easy to fit to my B17 saddle and this green bag really 'looks the business'. Many thanks SJS for your usual speedy delivery and great customer service.

ProsDurable, practical
Made by Emma, to the very high quality I remember of these bags. No zips to go wrong, extremely durable materials. A good looking bag which is a very practical way to carry things on my bike.

Used it over a weekend of cycling. Heaps of room and fitted neatly onto the bagman rack. Don't know how waterproof it will be but put all the kit into plastic bags just in case. Very well made and should last. Really pleased with it. Bit fiddly to get on the bagman when full but quick release worked well.

Proslooks nice, good size, durable
I have had this bag for two weeks now and am using it for commuting and I am very pleased with it. It is pretty and the size is great, so you can fit a lot of stuff in it and the handling of the bike is pretty much the same as without. I am using it with the SQR uplift systemand with this the bag doesn't get in my way on the bike and it only takes 3 seconds to take it off. The only thing I would say is that it takes some getting used to the good old leather straps, a zip is slightly more convenient to use.

Prosmade to last, great size, looks great on my tourer
So its not high-tech and in this day of mega fabrics good old cotton duck (aka canvas) and leather may not be to everyones taste, but I fully expect this bag to outlast me. Its a great size, without being so big that it gets in the way and will hold all my junk with ease. Its not too easy to take off the bike, so perhaps not brilliant for people who will be leaving their bikes 'unsupervised'.

do you need to buy support and is it quick release

These are sold ready to strap to a bike or you require a support purchased separately.

Why is the size of this bag different from the size of the same bag listed on the Carradice site?
By
05 Mar 2018
Your site states the dimensions of the bag to be H 24cm x W 35cm x D 23cm at 820g while the stated size of the same bag on Carradice site is H 28 x W35 x D23 at 920g?
I understand that all of these bags are handmade and as such they cannot be identical but I wonder where the height and weight differences come from since it’s not really a tiny difference.
Hi there,

The one I have just measured is H25cm, W38cm, D19cm with a weight of 1001grams.

Thanks
Fit A Bagman Sport?
By
04 Aug 2016
Hi
I have a super C Addax bag but find a need for something a little larger...this looks perfect, but will it work with my Bagman Sport. I know the Bagman Expedition is bigger, but I was assuming that was more for the Lowsaddle type bags etc...I'd prefer to avoid buying a second bagman support if possible??

thanks
Jonathan
Hi,

Although the Expedition Bagman will support this bag slightly better, there is no reason as to why you could not use your current Bagman Sport with this Camper Longflap if you wanted to.

Thanks.

Will The Camper Long Flap Be Stable Enough On A Road Bik
By
05 Sep 2014
with out seat stay braze ons? I've got an 80's ph11 peugeot. Is there a bracket or something that would work to keep things steady?
Hi,

It is designed to clamp to the seat and to the seatpost so it will be relatively stable, but there are products available to stable them further. There is two different products we recommend for this function and they are the Carradice bagman support and the Carradice uplift system.

Thanks.
